As IMSAR is a new unit of the Canadian Coast Guard auxiliary and 100% volunteer based, we are left to raise the initial funds ourselves. We have a lot of training to do before our volunteers can get on the water. We also need to buy fuel and maintain the vessel as well as purchase new equipment and attend events.

From its many beaches and fishing holes along the river front, the St. Lawrence offers so much to do combined with beautiful scenery. With commercial and pleasure boats running up and down the river, unfortunately accidents can happen. IMSAR will be there for the community.

IMSAR will be covering the water roughly from Prescott to Long Sault. In the near future we will be looking to provide a 24/7 on call service during the boating season and beyond. Patrolling the St. Lawrence and aiding all those who need our assistance.

We look forward to serving our community as the waterway from Prescott to Long Sault has limited marine search & rescue coverage from the Canadian side.
